Canyon’s AF80BK35 is an 80 Shore A black AFLAS® (TFE/P) compound engineered for high-purity, regulated sealing applications requiring exceptional steam and chemical resistance. Certified to USP Class VI <87> and <88>, FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, and 3-A Sanitary standards, it is well suited for hygienic environments and steam-in-place (SIP) processes. With a service temperature range of -10°C to 235°C (15°F to 455°F), AF80BK35 maintains low compression set, strong tensile properties, and dimensional stability under prolonged exposure to steam up to 200°C. Its excellent resistance to amines, acids, and bases, along with gamma radiation resistance up to 200 MRad, supports use in sterilization and high-purity processing systems.

 

AF80BK35 performs reliably in both static and dynamic sealing conditions and is commonly selected for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, biotechnology, and chemical processing equipment where compliance and durability are critical. The higher durometer improves extrusion resistance while preserving elasticity and long service life in aggressive environments. This AFLAS® formulation provides a dependable balance of regulatory compliance, thermal endurance, and chemical compatibility for critical sanitary sealing applications.
