No, it is not possible to definitively identify a material by it's color. There are no standard color-coding policies across the material manufacturing industry. Why do my rubber parts appear to have a powdery substance on the surface?
Some elastomeric materials excrete some non-reactive catalysts used in the curing process. This ends up as a white, gray, or yellowish powder on the surface of the parts called bloom. Bloom does not typically have any effect on the functionality of a seal. If you require a material that does not bloom, be sure to mention it to the Canyon engineering team and we will make sure to provide components that meet your needs.
