VT75BK18 is a 75 shore A black FKM Type F compound engineered for enhanced fuel and hydrocarbon resistance in demanding sealing environments. This material is particularly well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in contact with fuels, lubricant oils, and aromatic hydrocarbons, offering excellent chemical compatibility and long-term durability. It provides strong thermal stability and resistance to weathering and aging, ensuring reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range of -18°C to 225°C. VT75BK18 meets ASTM D2000 M2HK814 requirements and can be compared to Parker FKM Type F materials when evaluating equivalent compounds for fuel system and chemical sealing applications.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and aggressive chemicals is critical. Type F FKM materials are specifically formulated to provide improved resistance to fuels and aromatic hydrocarbons compared to other FKM types, making them ideal for automotive, aerospace, and industrial fuel handling systems. These materials maintain good compression set resistance and high temperature stability, supporting long service life in harsh conditions. While highly versatile, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection essential.
