VT75BK30 is a 75 shore A black FKM Type GLT compound designed to deliver strong chemical resistance and improved low temperature flexibility compared to standard FKM grades. This material is well suited for O-rings and gaskets in applications where thermal cycling is present, maintaining sealing performance across a service temperature range of -40°C to 225°C with short excursions down to -50°C. It offers excellent resistance to fuels, oils, and aggressive chemicals, along with durability against ozone, weathering, and aging, making it a reliable choice for automotive, aerospace, and industrial systems. VT75BK30 meets ASTM D2000 M6HK710 requirements and can be compared to Parker V0835-75 and VM835-75 when evaluating equivalent low temperature FKM compounds.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, chemicals, and fuels is essential. GLT-type FKM materials are specifically formulated to extend low temperature performance beyond standard grades while maintaining strong high temperature stability and compression set resistance. These materials are commonly used in oil and gas, chemical processing, and aerospace applications where both chemical exposure and cold temperature sealing are required. While highly versatile, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection critical.
