Ammonium sulfide is a colorless to yellow liquid with a strong odor of rotten eggs, represented by the chemical formula (NH4)2S. It is used in photographic developers, textile dyeing, and as a reagent in chemical synthesis. Ammonium sulfide is highly toxic and can release hydrogen sulfide gas, which poses significant health and safety risks. Proper handling, storage, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
