Calcium cyanamide is a white crystalline compound with the chemical formula CaCN2. It is used as a fertilizer, in the manufacture of calcium carbide, and as a desulfurizing agent in steelmaking. Calcium cyanamide is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling and storage are essential to ensure safety.
