NAPHTHA Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Naphtha is a volatile petroleum hydrocarbon mixture widely used as a solvent and as a feedstock in petrochemical manufacturing. It is commonly used in the production of plastics, synthetic fibers, and other chemical intermediates, and may also be used as a fuel or metal cleaning solvent. In equipment where naphtha contacts O-rings, rubber seals, gaskets, and plastic components, chemical compatibility should be evaluated to prevent swelling or degradation of sealing materials. Because naphtha is highly flammable, proper storage, ventilation, safe handling procedures, and appropriate PPE are recommended.
