The Parker C0557-70 Neoprene (Chloroprene, CR) compound is a 70 durometer black elastomer developed for general-purpose O-rings and gaskets used in industrial and automotive applications. It offers a dependable balance of oil, weather, and aging resistance with good flexibility across its service range of -35°F to 250°F. The compound performs well with paraffin-based mineral oils, silicone lubricants, water, ammonia, and refrigerants, making it suitable for drive belt and machinery sealing environments. Its resistance to ozone and outdoor exposure allows for long-term performance in varied operating conditions.
C0557-70 meets ASTM D2000 M3BC710 standards, ensuring consistent material quality and mechanical strength. While versatile, it is not recommended for use with aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or polar solvents such as ketones and esters. This Neoprene formulation provides a reliable, cost-effective solution for applications requiring durability, chemical stability, and environmental resistance.
