Parker’s C1276-70 is a 70 Shore A black Neoprene (Chloroprene, CR) compound developed to provide broader refrigerant and lubricant compatibility than traditional neoprene formulations. With a service temperature range of -35°F to 250°F, it delivers reliable sealing performance in contact with carbon dioxide, ammonia, common refrigerants, silicone oils and greases, and water or water-based fluids at lower temperatures. This compound offers improved thermal flexibility and environmental durability, making it well suited for refrigeration, HVAC, and general industrial sealing applications. Its balanced mechanical properties support consistent performance in both static and moderate dynamic sealing conditions.

C1276-70 is not recommended for aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or polar solvents such as ketones, esters, ethers, and acetones. It is commonly selected where refrigerant compatibility and wider operating temperature capability are required without sacrificing ozone, weathering, and aging resistance. Canyon Components offers equivalent chloroprene materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker C1276-70 for refrigerant, ammonia, and low-temperature sealing applications.
