The Parker C1278-80 Neoprene (Chloroprene, CR) compound is an 80 durometer black elastomer developed for O-rings and gaskets requiring higher hardness and low compression set. Known as a “Super Neoprene” formulation, it offers excellent resistance to refrigerants, ammonia, carbon dioxide, and paraffin-based oils, along with strong performance in water and silicone lubricants at lower temperatures. Its improved ozone, weathering, and aging resistance make it a dependable choice for industrial, HVAC, and refrigeration sealing environments. The material maintains dimensional stability and sealing integrity across a service range of -35°F to 225°F, even under continuous exposure to oil and environmental stress.
C1278-80 meets ASTM D2000 M2BC810 specifications, ensuring consistent mechanical performance and chemical compatibility. It is not recommended for aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons or polar solvents such as ketones and esters. This high-strength Neoprene compound provides excellent longevity, chemical resistance, and compression stability for demanding sealing applications.
