Parker’s E3609-70 is a 70 Shore A black EPDM compound engineered for sanitary, potable water, and regulated sealing applications requiring broad chemical compatibility and certified compliance. Qualified to ASTM D2000 M3CA710, it meets NSF 51, NSF 61, WRAS, KTW, FDA, and USP Class VI requirements, making it suitable for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and municipal water systems. With a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F, E3609-70 provides reliable performance in hot water and steam service while maintaining flexibility at low temperatures. The compound offers excellent resistance to glycol-based brake fluids, phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids, silicone oils and greases, many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, alkalis, polar solvents, ozone, aging, and weathering.

E3609-70 is commonly used in potable water components, sanitary process equipment, and fluid handling systems where regulatory compliance and long-term durability are critical. It is not recommended for exposure to mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. This EPDM formulation delivers consistent sealing integrity across repeated thermal and chemical cycles in demanding environments. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials designed to meet similar FDA, NSF, WRAS, KTW, and USP Class VI requirements for sanitary and potable water sealing applications.
