Canyon’s HN90BK10 is a 90 Shore A black HNBR compound engineered for anti-explosive decompression (AED or RGD) sealing applications in high-pressure oil and gas environments. Hydrogenated nitrile chemistry delivers improved low- and high-temperature performance, enhanced chemical resistance, and strong abrasion resistance compared to standard NBR materials. With a service temperature range of -54°C to 163°C (-65°F to 325°F), HN90BK10 maintains sealing integrity under rapid pressure cycling while providing low compression set and high mechanical strength. The compound has passed NORSOK M-710 AED testing, supporting reliable performance in sour gas and high-pressure service conditions.

 

HN90BK10 meets ASTM D2000 M2DH920 requirements and is commonly used in valves, packers, downhole tools, wellhead equipment, and other pressure-containing components where resistance to rapid gas decompression is critical. Its high durometer improves extrusion resistance while preserving sufficient elasticity for dependable static and moderate dynamic sealing. This material is frequently cross-referenced as an alternative to Parker N4299A90, N4007A95, and N4288A95 for comparable AED-rated HNBR sealing applications.
