Canyon’s HN90BK11 is a 90 Shore A black HNBR compound engineered for anti-explosive decompression (AED or RGD) sealing in severe oil and gas service conditions. Qualified to both NORSOK M-710 AED and NACE TM0187 AED testing, it delivers dependable sealing performance under rapid pressure cycling, sour gas exposure, and elevated temperatures. With a service temperature range of -25°C to 180°C (-13°F to 356°F), HN90BK11 provides improved high-temperature performance, strong chemical resistance, good abrasion resistance, and low compression set compared to standard nitrile materials. Its hydrogenated nitrile formulation supports long-term durability where conventional NBR compounds are prone to cracking or blistering.

 

HN90BK11 meets ASTM D2000 M2DH920 requirements and is commonly used in valves, wellheads, packers, downhole tools, and other pressure-containing equipment where AED resistance is critical. The high durometer improves extrusion resistance while maintaining sufficient elasticity for reliable static and moderate dynamic sealing. This compound is frequently cross-referenced as an alternative to Parker KA453-80, 21508, KB163-90, 21379, N4299A90, N4007A95, and N4288A95 for comparable AED-rated HNBR applications.
