DI WATER Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Deionized water, commonly referred to as DI water or demineralized water, is purified water with dissolved mineral ions removed through ion exchange or filtration processes. It is widely used in industrial systems, laboratories, and product manufacturing. Although generally non toxic, prolonged contact may cause mild irritation. When reviewing DI water chemical compatibility, O-rings, rubber seals, gaskets, and plastic components should be carefully selected, as high purity water can gradually affect certain rubber formulations and plastics over extended service periods.
