DIBENZYL Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Dibenzyl, also known as 1,2-diphenylethane with the formula C14H14, is a colorless liquid aromatic compound used as a solvent and as an intermediate in chemical synthesis. In equipment and processing systems, exposure to dibenzyl may affect O-rings, rubber seals, gaskets, and certain plastic materials, so compatibility should be reviewed to limit swelling or softening. Although considered relatively low in toxicity, contact can cause skin and respiratory irritation. Proper storage, controlled handling, and appropriate PPE are recommended for safe use.
