DIPHENYLAMINE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics
Diphenylamine, commonly abbreviated as DPA, is a white crystalline organic compound with the chemical formula C12H11N that is widely used as an antioxidant in rubber products and lubricants, as well as in the production of dyes and pharmaceuticals. Although considered relatively low in acute toxicity, it can cause skin and respiratory irritation with prolonged exposure. When evaluating chemical compatibility, O-rings, rubber seals, gaskets, and plastic components should be reviewed carefully, as aromatic amines may affect certain rubber formulations. Proper handling and storage are recommended.
