OLEYL ALCOHOL Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Oleyl alcohol is a long-chain unsaturated fatty alcohol with the chemical formula C18H36O. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid derived from natural oils such as olive oil and used primarily as an emulsifier, emollient, and thickening agent in cosmetics and personal care products. Oleyl alcohol is also employed in the production of surfactants, lubricants, and plasticizers. It is valued for its ability to improve the texture and stability of formulations. While generally considered safe, it should be handled with care to avoid prolonged skin contact or inhalation of vapors.
