Canyon’s AF85BK00 is an 85 Shore A black AFLAS® (TFE/P) compound engineered for demanding steam and chemically aggressive sealing applications. It provides excellent resistance to steam up to 200°C along with strong compatibility against amines, acids, and bases, making it highly effective for steam-in-place (SIP) environments. With a service temperature range of -10°C to 232°C (15°F to 450°F), AF85BK00 maintains low compression set, high tensile strength, and dimensional stability under prolonged thermal and chemical exposure. The higher durometer improves extrusion resistance, supporting reliable performance in both static and dynamic sealing conditions.

 

AF85BK00 is widely used in chemical processing, pharmaceutical, energy, and industrial systems where conventional elastomers struggle with steam or alkaline media. Its resistance to gamma radiation up to 200 MRad further supports use in sterilization, nuclear, and high-purity process environments. This AFLAS® formulation offers a dependable balance of durability, chemical resistance, and long service life for critical sealing applications.
