Greene Tweed’s Chemraz® 505 is a 75 Shore A black perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) compound that provides broad chemical compatibility for use in harsh and mixed-media environments. Known as a universal compound, it resists attack from acids, caustics, aldehydes, esters, ethers, aromatics, hot water, steam, amines, methanol, ketones, TBA, and MTBE. With a service temperature range of -30°C to 230°C (-22°F to 446°F), Chemraz® 505 performs reliably in both subzero and high-temperature processes, making it suitable for multisubstance operations and systems exposed to temperature and pressure fluctuations. Its low compression set ensures consistent sealing performance and resistance to shrinkage or distortion over time.
Chemraz® 505 is widely used in valves, mechanical seals, pump housings, reactors, compressors, and other chemical processing equipment. It is also suitable for sampling and metering systems, mixers, instrumentation, sprayers, and couplings. This perfluoroelastomer formulation combines broad chemical resistance, mechanical strength, and thermal stability, offering dependable sealing performance in demanding industrial and chemical processing environments.
