NB40BK00 is Canyon’s standard 40 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound developed for general-purpose sealing where flexibility, oil resistance, and cost efficiency are important. This low-durometer material provides good abrasion resistance and low compression set, supporting reliable sealing performance in O-rings and gaskets used under light loads. With a service temperature range of -35°C to 122°C (-31°F to 252°F), NB40BK00 maintains elasticity in cooler conditions while remaining stable in contact with petroleum-based oils. It is commonly selected for static and light dynamic applications that benefit from improved conformability to gland surfaces. Compare to Parker N0545-40 for similar low-durometer nitrile performance.

NB40BK00 meets ASTM D2000 M2BG407 requirements and is suitable for pumps, valves, and general industrial equipment where a softer NBR is preferred. The compound’s balance of flexibility and durability helps reduce installation damage and supports consistent sealing over time. Canyon Components offers this material as a cost-effective alternative for applications requiring soft nitrile O-rings and gaskets without specialty chemical resistance.
