SI50BU05 is a 50 shore A blue silicone (VMQ) compound that is peroxide cured and FDA compliant to 21 CFR 177.2600, making it ideal for food processing and general industrial sealing applications. Its lower durometer provides excellent flexibility and conformability, allowing O-rings and gaskets to achieve reliable sealing in low pressure systems and applications with irregular sealing surfaces. The material offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, while maintaining stable performance across a service temperature range of -60°C to 205°C. SI50BU05 meets ASTM D2000 M5GE506 requirements and can be compared to Parker S1138-70 when evaluating equivalent FDA compliant silicone materials.
