SI50OR13 is a 50 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound engineered for low temperature sealing where flexibility and conformability are critical. This material remains elastic down to -75°C, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in cold climate equipment, aerospace systems, and industrial applications exposed to extreme temperatures. Its low durometer improves sealing in low pressure systems and tight tolerances, while providing good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils. SI50OR13 meets ASTM D2000 M5GE505 requirements and offers reliable performance across a wide thermal range.

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its excellent temperature flexibility and resistance to environmental degradation. Low temperature silicone grades are specifically formulated to maintain elasticity in extreme cold conditions where many elastomers become brittle and fail. These materials are commonly used in industrial, outdoor, and aerospace applications where thermal cycling and cold weather performance are essential. While highly versatile, silicone compounds are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection important.
