SI70OR22 is a 70 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound formulated for extreme low temperature sealing applications where flexibility and reliability are critical. This ULT-grade silicone maintains elasticity down to -75°C while still providing stable performance up to 205°C, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in aerospace, outdoor equipment, and cold climate systems. It offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, supporting long-term environmental durability. SI70OR22 meets ASTM D2000 M7GE705 and A-A-59588 Class 1A and 1B requirements, and can be compared to Parker S0355-75 when evaluating equivalent low temperature silicone materials.
Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its exceptional temperature range and environmental resistance. ULT silicone grades are specifically designed to extend performance into extreme low temperature environments where most elastomers become brittle and fail. These materials are commonly used in aerospace, defense, and outdoor applications where consistent sealing is required across wide thermal cycles.
