VT55BK00 is a 55 shore A black FKM Type A compound designed for applications requiring very soft, highly conformable sealing. This low durometer material is ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in low pressure systems, irregular sealing surfaces, or applications where minimal compression force is available. It provides excellent resistance to heat, fuels, oils, and a wide range of industrial chemicals, along with strong durability against ozone, weathering, and aging. With a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C, VT55BK00 meets ASTM D2000 M2HK607 requirements and offers a cost-effective solution for flexible sealing needs.
FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. Lower durometer FKM materials like 55A are selected for applications requiring enhanced flexibility and improved sealing in static conditions. These compounds maintain strong chemical resistance and thermal stability while offering better conformability compared to harder grades. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for long-term sealing performance.
