VT75BK08 is a 75 shore A black FKM Type A compound internally lubricated with PTFE, designed to reduce friction and improve wear performance in dynamic sealing applications. This material is ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in moving assemblies where smoother operation, reduced stick-slip, and longer service life are required. It offers excellent resistance to heat, fuels, oils, and a wide range of industrial chemicals, along with strong durability against ozone, weathering, and aging. With a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C, VT75BK08 meets ASTM D2000 4HK715 requirements and can be compared to Parker V0848-75 when evaluating equivalent PTFE-filled FKM materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. PTFE-filled or internally lubricated FKM compounds incorporate solid lubricants to reduce friction, improve wear resistance, and enhance performance in dynamic sealing environments. These materials are commonly used in industrial machinery, automotive systems, and high performance equipment where both chemical resistance and low friction are critical. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important.
