VT75BK20 is a 75 shore A black FKM Type GF compound engineered for applications requiring enhanced chemical resistance beyond standard fluorocarbon materials. This material is ideal for O-rings and gaskets exposed to aggressive media such as steam, acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons, while still maintaining excellent performance in fuels and oils. It offers strong heat resistance, high temperature stability, and durability against ozone, weathering, and aging, making it suitable for demanding industrial and chemical processing environments. With a service temperature range of -16°C to 225°C, VT75BK20 meets ASTM D2000 M2HK814 requirements and can be compared to Parker V1274-80 when evaluating equivalent GF-type FKM materials.
FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, and aggressive chemicals is essential. GF-type FKM compounds are formulated to provide improved resistance to steam, acids, and certain harsh chemical environments compared to standard Type A or B grades. These materials are commonly used in chemical processing, oil and gas, and industrial applications where both chemical compatibility and thermal stability are critical. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for certain polar solvents or extreme steam conditions beyond their limits, making proper material selection important.
