VT75BK85 is a 75 shore A black FKM Type A compound designed for aerospace and industrial sealing applications requiring AMS 7276 compliance without QPL listing. This material provides excellent resistance to fuels, oils, and a wide range of chemicals, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in fuel systems, hydraulic equipment, and general aerospace components. It offers strong high temperature stability along with durability against ozone, weathering, and aging, ensuring consistent long-term performance. With a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C, VT75BK85 can be compared to Parker compounds such as VM100-75, VA151-75, and VM330-75 when evaluating equivalent AMS-compliant FKM materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, and aggressive chemicals is essential. AMS and MIL-compliant FKM compounds are commonly used in aerospace and defense applications where performance standards and traceability are important. Non-QPL materials like VT75BK85 provide similar performance characteristics to listed compounds while offering flexibility in sourcing and cost. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection critical for long-term sealing success.
