VT75BK91 is a 75 shore A black FKM Type GLT compound qualified to MIL-R-83485, AMS-R-83485, and AMS 7287 QPL, designed for aerospace and low temperature sealing applications. This material provides excellent resistance to fuels, oils, and a wide range of industrial chemicals, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in aircraft systems, fuel handling, and high performance equipment. Its GLT formulation improves low temperature flexibility, maintaining sealing performance down to -40°C with excursions to -50°C, while still delivering strong high temperature stability and resistance to weathering and aging. VT75BK91 can be compared to Parker V0835-75 and VM835-75 when evaluating equivalent MIL and AMS qualified FKM materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, and aggressive chemicals is essential. GLT-type FKM compounds are specifically engineered to extend low temperature performance beyond standard grades while maintaining excellent high temperature stability and compression set resistance. MIL and AMS qualified FKM materials are commonly used in aerospace, defense, and critical industrial applications where compliance and reliability are required. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection essential for long-term sealing performance.
