VT90BK08 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type A compound internally lubricated with molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) to reduce surface friction in demanding sealing applications. This material is ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in dynamic or high wear environments where reduced friction and improved wear resistance are critical. Its high durometer enhances extrusion resistance and durability under load, while maintaining excellent resistance to heat, fuels, oils, and aggressive chemicals. With a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C, VT90BK08 provides consistent performance and can be compared to Parker materials such as VA163-80, 19318, and V0848-75 when evaluating equivalent internally lubricated FKM compounds.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, chemicals, and fuels is essential. Internally lubricated FKM compounds incorporate additives like MoS₂ to reduce friction, improve wear characteristics, and enhance performance in dynamic sealing applications. These materials are commonly used in industrial machinery, automotive systems, and high performance equipment where both durability and smooth operation are required. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important.
