VT90BK10 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type B compound designed for high hardness sealing applications where extrusion resistance and durability are critical. This material provides excellent resistance to fuels, oils, and a wide range of industrial chemicals, along with strong stability at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in high pressure systems and demanding environments. Its higher durometer enhances resistance to deformation under load, while also offering excellent resistance to weathering and aging for long service life. VT90BK10 operates across a service temperature range of -24°C to 225°C, meets ASTM D2000 M3HK910 requirements, and can be compared to Parker V0709-90 and VA153-90 for equivalent performance.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. Type B FKM materials provide enhanced resistance to fuels and certain aggressive chemicals compared to Type A, making them well suited for automotive, aerospace, and industrial sealing applications. Higher durometer grades like 90A are commonly selected for improved extrusion resistance in high pressure systems while maintaining strong chemical and thermal performance. While highly versatile, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for long-term sealing success.
