VT90BK30 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type GLT compound engineered for applications requiring both high hardness and improved low temperature performance. This material provides excellent resistance to explosive decompression due to its higher durometer, along with strong chemical resistance to fuels, oils, and aggressive industrial media. It maintains reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range of -40°C to 225°C, making it well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in oil and gas, aerospace, and high pressure systems. VT90BK30 meets ASTM D2000 M3HK914 requirements and can be compared to Parker GLT-type FKM materials when evaluating equivalent low temperature fluorocarbon compounds.

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, chemicals, and fuels is essential. GLT-type FKM compounds are specifically formulated to improve low temperature flexibility compared to standard FKM, while still maintaining strong high temperature stability and compression set resistance. These materials are commonly used in demanding environments such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and aerospace systems, particularly where both thermal cycling and chemical exposure are present. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper selection critical for long-term sealing success.
