Chemical Resistant Material

ORing cut reference

VT90BK60 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type ETP compound engineered for extreme chemical environments where standard fluorocarbon materials are not sufficient. This high hardness material provides outstanding resistance to acids, organic solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbons, fuels, mineral oils, amines, steam, and caustic media, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in chemical processing, oil and gas, and aggressive industrial systems. Its elevated durometer improves extrusion resistance under high pressure while maintaining strong thermal stability across a service temperature range of -20°C to 225°C. VT90BK60 can be compared to Parker V1260-75 when evaluating equivalent extreme chemical-resistant FKM materials.

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. ETP-type FKM compounds are advanced formulations designed to significantly expand chemical compatibility beyond standard and specialty grades, especially in environments involving amines, caustics, and aggressive solvents. These materials are commonly used in chemical processing, oil and gas, and industrial applications where failure due to chemical attack is not acceptable. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for certain extreme steam conditions or specific incompatible media, making proper material selection critical.
