VT90BK90 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type A compound qualified to AMS-7259 and MIL-R-83248A Type 1 Class 2, making it a widely used aerospace and military specification sealing material. This compound delivers excellent resistance to fuels, oils, and a broad range of chemicals, along with strong performance under elevated temperatures and harsh environmental conditions. Its high durometer enhances extrusion resistance, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in high pressure systems, fuel handling equipment, and aerospace components. With a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C, VT90BK90 can be compared to Parker compounds such as V0709-90 and VA153-90 when evaluating equivalent MIL-spec FKM materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. MIL-spec and AMS-qualified FKM compounds are designed to meet strict aerospace and defense requirements, ensuring consistent performance and reliability in critical applications.
