BT70BK00, BUTYL, Black, 70A

Canyon’s BT70BK00 is a 70 Shore A black Butyl (IIR) compound designed as a cost-effective, general-purpose sealing material for applications requiring low gas permeability and reliable environmental resistance. It delivers excellent impermeability to gases, making it particularly well suited for pressurized systems and vacuum sealing applications. With a service temperature range of -60°C to 121°C (-76°F to 250°F), BT70BK00 maintains flexibility at low temperatures while offering good resistance to acids, alkalis, and ozone. Its balanced mechanical properties, including high elongation and stable tensile strength, support dependable performance in static and low-motion sealing environments.

BT70BK00 meets ASTM D2000 M2AA706 requirements and is commonly used in industrial equipment, fluid handling systems, and vacuum applications where airtight sealing and durability are critical. This Butyl formulation provides a practical alternative for applications that do not involve exposure to oils, fuels, or hydrocarbons. Canyon Components offers equivalent Butyl materials to support specific temperature, permeability, and compliance requirements. Compare to other popular brands of Butyl materials such as Parker B0318-70 and B0612-70.
