BT70BK01 Datasheet
BT70BK01, BUTYL, Black, FDA, 70A
Canyon’s BT70BK01 is a 70 Shore A black FDA-compliant Butyl (IIR) compound engineered for sanitary and food manufacturing sealing applications that require low permeability and dependable environmental resistance. It offers excellent impermeability to gases, making it ideal for pressurized systems and vacuum service, while maintaining flexibility across a service temperature range of -60°C to 121°C (-76°F to 250°F). This compound provides strong resistance to acids, alkalis, and ozone, along with good low-temperature performance and low compression set for long service life. Its balanced mechanical properties and FDA compliance make it well suited for static sealing in hygienic processing environments.
BT70BK01 meets ASTM D2000 4AA715 requirements and is commonly used in food processing equipment, fluid handling systems, and applications where airtight sealing and regulatory compliance are critical. It is designed as a cost-effective alternative for food-grade Butyl sealing without exposure to oils or fuels. Canyon Components offers equivalent Butyl materials to support specific performance, temperature, and compliance needs. Compare to other popular brands of Butyl materials such as Parker B0318-70 and B0612-70.
