Parker, E1583-70 EPDM, 70A, Black, NSF 51, NSF61, Internally Lubed
Parker’s E1583-70 is a 70 Shore A black EPDM compound engineered for potable water, sanitary, and chemically demanding sealing applications that require low installation friction and regulatory compliance. Internally lubricated for easier assembly and reduced installation damage, it delivers reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F. The compound provides excellent resistance to hot water and steam, glycol-based brake fluids, phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids, silicone oils, many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, and a wide range of polar solvents. Its inherent resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering supports long-term durability in both indoor and outdoor environments.
E1583-70 meets ASTM D2000 M3CA714 requirements and is NSF 61 approved, making it suitable for drinking water and sanitary fluid handling systems. The internally lubricated formulation improves consistency in both static and dynamic sealing applications where ease of installation and repeatability are important. It is not recommended for use with mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials designed to meet similar NSF, potable water, and sanitary sealing requirements.
