EJ583-70 Datasheet

Parker’s EJ583-70 is a 70 Shore A black EPDM compound designed for potable water and sanitary sealing applications that require consistent mechanical properties and regulatory compliance. Certified to NSF 61 and meeting multiple ASTM D2000 classifications, it delivers reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range typical for hot water, steam, and water-based systems. The compound exhibits strong tensile strength, high elongation, and controlled compression set, supporting long-term sealing integrity under repeated thermal cycling. Its EPDM formulation provides excellent resistance to water, ozone, aging, and environmental exposure commonly found in municipal and industrial water systems.

 

EJ583-70 is well suited for use in potable water components, plumbing systems, and industrial fluid handling equipment where dimensional stability and low compression set are critical. It performs reliably in hot water and steam service and maintains flexibility without excessive hardening after heat exposure. This compound is not intended for use with mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels.
