EP70BK05 Datasheet

Canyon’s EP70BK05 is a 70 Shore A black EPDM compound that is peroxide cured and engineered for FDA-compliant sealing applications requiring durability, cleanliness, and cost efficiency. Designed to meet FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 requirements, it provides strong resistance to weathering, ozone, and environmental exposure while delivering good heat resistance, abrasion resistance, and low compression set. With a service temperature range of -57°C to 150°C (-70°F to 300°F), EP70BK05 performs reliably in hot water, cleaning, and general industrial environments where long-term stability is required. Its peroxide-cured formulation enhances aging resistance and consistency compared to sulfur-cured EPDM grades.

 

EP70BK05 meets ASTM D2000 M3DA710 requirements and is commonly used in food-contact, sanitary, and general-purpose industrial sealing applications where FDA compliance and affordability are key selection factors. It is frequently cross-referenced as an alternative to Parker E1028-70, E0540-80, and E883-70 for similar FDA-rated EPDM sealing needs.
