Canyon Components EP70BK59 is a black, 70 Shore A EPDM rubber compound formulated for improved weathering resistance and outdoor sealing applications. This UV stabilized ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber combines UL 157 compliance with good heat resistance, good abrasion resistance, and low compression set. EP70BK59 is an option for EPDM O-rings, weather resistant gaskets, and custom rubber seals exposed to demanding environmental conditions.
With a service temperature range of -55°C to 150°C (-67°F to 302°F), EP70BK59 supports applications requiring low temperature flexibility and high temperature EPDM sealing performance. Reported physical properties include a hardness of 71 Shore A, tensile strength of 1,566 psi (10.8 MPa), and elongation of 380%, exceeding the specified minimum tensile strength and elongation requirements. Its low compression set helps rubber sealing components maintain their sealing force under sustained compression.
Specified to ASTM D2000 M2BA707 A14 B13 C12 F19, EP70BK59 provides a material option for industrial EPDM seals, outdoor equipment gaskets, enclosure seals, and custom molded rubber parts.
