Greene Tweed’s Chemraz® 526 is a 97 Shore A black perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) engineered specifically for rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistance in severe oilfield and energy-sector environments. Designed for high-pressure downhole and surface equipment, it provides excellent chemical compatibility and high-temperature stability when exposed to sour gas, acids, caustics, hot water, steam, and aggressive process fluids. With a service temperature range of -20°C to 250°C (-4°F to 482°F), Chemraz® 526 maintains sealing integrity during rapid pressure drops where conventional elastomers experience blistering or cracking. The compound has successfully passed ISO 23936-2 and NORSOK M-710 testing, confirming its suitability for critical RGD and sour gas applications.
Chemraz® 526 is widely used in drilling tools, wireline tools, completion equipment, valves, and pumps operating under extreme pressure and thermal cycling. Its combination of high durometer strength, broad chemical resistance, and proven decompression performance helps extend equipment life and reduce maintenance intervals in demanding oil and gas operations. This FFKM formulation is purpose-built for applications where RGD resistance and long-term durability are essential.
