Chemraz® SD585 Datasheet

Greene Tweed’s Chemraz® SD585 is an 80 Shore A white perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) compound engineered for biotechnology, analytical, and medical device sealing applications where purity and chemical durability are critical. It is compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.2400 and USP Class VI, supporting use in sanitary and high-purity environments. With a service temperature range of -30°C to 220°C (-22°F to 428°F), Chemraz® SD585 maintains elasticity and sealing integrity during exposure to strong oxidizing fluids, hot aqueous solutions, and repeated steam sterilization. Its specialized filler system enhances chemical resistance and long-term durability, even under higher sealing loads and frequent autoclaving cycles.

 

Chemraz® SD585 is commonly used in solenoid valves, diaphragms, analytical instruments, and well plate gaskets where cleanliness, sterilization resistance, and consistent performance are required. It withstands aggressive cleaning and sterilization without loss of mechanical properties, making it well suited for medical and laboratory process systems. This FFKM formulation combines high purity, robust chemical resistance, and mechanical strength for reliable sealing in life sciences and precision fluid-handling applications.
