Parker, KB162-80 HNBR, 80A, Black, Oilfield, High Temp, Hydraulics
Parker’s KB162-80 is an 80 Shore A black HNBR compound engineered for high-temperature hydraulic and oilfield sealing applications where thermal stability and fluid resistance are critical. Hydrogenated nitrile chemistry provides improved heat resistance and mechanical durability compared to standard NBR, supporting reliable performance across a service temperature range of approximately -25°F to 300°F, with short-term capability up to 325°F. The compound is well suited for petroleum-based hydraulic oils, motor oils, transmission fluids, greases, R134a refrigerant, water and glycol mixtures, steam, and HFA, HFB, and HFC hydraulic fluids. Its resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering supports long service life in demanding industrial and outdoor environments.
KB162-80 is commonly used in oilfield equipment, high-temperature hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and pressure-containing components where durability and fluid compatibility are required. It is not recommended for polar solvents such as ketones and esters, strong acids, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or automotive and aircraft brake fluids. This HNBR formulation provides a dependable balance of heat resistance, oil compatibility, and mechanical strength for severe service conditions. Canyon Components offers equivalent HNBR materials designed to match the temperature capability, hydraulic fluid compatibility, and performance profile of Parker KB162-80.
