KB190-50 Datasheet
Parker, KB190-50 HNBR, 50A, Black, Automotive Applications
Parker’s KB190-50 is a 50 Shore A black HNBR compound developed for automotive sealing applications that require flexibility, oil resistance, and durability across wide temperature ranges. Hydrogenated nitrile chemistry provides improved thermal stability and chemical resistance compared to standard NBR, supporting reliable performance from approximately -25°F to 300°F, with short-term capability up to 325°F. This compound is compatible with petroleum-based hydraulic oils, motor oils, transmission fluids, greases, R134a refrigerant, water and glycol mixtures, steam, and HFA, HFB, and HFC hydraulic fluids. Its softer durometer allows effective sealing under lower clamp loads while maintaining resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering.
KB190-50 is commonly used in automotive systems such as engine components, fluid handling assemblies, and sealing locations exposed to oils, coolants, and temperature cycling. It is not recommended for polar solvents such as ketones and esters, strong acids, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or automotive and aircraft brake fluids. This HNBR formulation provides a balanced combination of flexibility, heat resistance, and oil compatibility for automotive and light industrial service. Canyon Components offers equivalent HNBR materials designed to match the performance characteristics of Parker KB190-50 for automotive sealing applications.
