N1220-70 Datasheet
Parker, N1220-70 NBR, 70A, Black, NSF 51, FDA
Parker’s N1220-70 is a 70 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound developed for sealing applications that require both NSF 51 and FDA compliance. Designed for use in regulated food-contact and industrial environments, it provides reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range of -30°F to 225°F. This compound is compatible with petroleum-based oils, water up to 212°F, salt and alkali solutions, and weak acids, making it suitable for a wide range of fluid-handling and sanitary applications. Its balanced hardness and compression set characteristics support consistent performance in static and light dynamic O-ring and gasket designs.
N1220-70 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in food processing equipment, commercial appliances, pumps, valves, and industrial systems where NSF 51 approval and FDA compliance are required. It is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents. This nitrile grade offers a practical solution when oil resistance, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective sealing must be combined. Canyon Components offers equivalent NSF 51 and FDA compliant NBR materials designed to match the temperature capability and fluid compatibility of Parker N1220-70.
