N1239-70 Datasheet

Parker’s N1239-70 is a 70 Shore A red hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) compound engineered for sealing applications involving refrigerants and mixed fluid environments. The HNBR formulation provides improved thermal stability, chemical resistance, and aging performance compared to standard NBR, supporting reliable operation across a service temperature range of approximately -25°F to 300°F, with short-term capability up to 325°F. This compound is well suited for refrigerant service, including R134a, and also performs effectively in petroleum-based hydraulic oils, motor oils, transmission fluids, greases, water and glycol mixtures, steam, and HFA, HFB, and HFC hydraulic fluids. Its resistance to ozone, weathering, and environmental exposure helps maintain long-term sealing integrity in refrigeration and HVAC-related systems.

 

N1239-70 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in refrigeration equipment, compressors, valves, and industrial fluid systems where refrigerant compatibility and temperature cycling are critical. It is not recommended for polar solvents such as ketones and esters, strong acids, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or automotive and aircraft brake fluids. This HNBR grade offers a dependable balance of refrigerant compatibility, oil resistance, and mechanical durability without the cost of higher-end elastomers.
