SI50OR00 Datasheet
SI50OR00, SIL, Orange, 50A
SI50OR00 is a 50 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound designed for general purpose sealing where flexibility and low compression force are critical. Its lower durometer allows O-rings and gaskets to conform easily to sealing surfaces, making it ideal for low pressure systems and applications requiring improved surface contact. The material offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, supporting reliable performance across a wide range of industrial environments. With a service temperature range of -60°C to 205°C, SI50OR00 meets ASTM D2000 M5GE506 requirements and provides a versatile solution for flexible sealing applications.
Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its broad temperature range and excellent resistance to environmental degradation. Lower durometer silicone materials like 50A are especially useful in applications requiring high flexibility, vibration absorption, or gentle sealing force. These materials maintain elasticity in both extreme cold and heat, making them suitable for industrial, food processing, and general sealing applications. While highly versatile, silicone compounds are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection important.
