SI50OR60 Datasheet

SI50OR60 is a 50 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound manufactured to A-A-59588 Class 3B Grade 50, engineered for applications requiring enhanced tear and flex resistance along with reliable thermal performance. This material provides excellent resistance to thermal degradation and low compression set, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in dynamic or flexing environments. It maintains flexibility down to -70°C while offering stable performance up to 205°C, along with strong resistance to oxygen, ozone, UV exposure, and fungal growth. SI50OR60 is a cost-effective solution for applications requiring durability, flexibility, and environmental resistance.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its broad temperature range and excellent resistance to environmental degradation. Specialty grades like A-A-59588 Class 3B are formulated to improve mechanical properties such as tear strength and flex resistance while maintaining the core benefits of silicone materials. These compounds are commonly used in aerospace, industrial, and environmental sealing applications where repeated movement or deformation is expected. While highly versatile, silicone materials are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection important.
