SI50TR01 Datasheet

SI50TR01 is a 50 shore A translucent silicone (VMQ) compound that is FDA compliant to 21 CFR 177.2600, designed for flexible sealing in food and general industrial applications. This material provides excellent conformability, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in low pressure systems or applications requiring gentle sealing force and clean visual inspection. It offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, while maintaining reliable performance across a service temperature range of -55°C to 225°C. SI50TR01 meets ASTM D2000 M5GE506 requirements and delivers dependable performance in sanitary and temperature-variable environments.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its broad temperature range and excellent environmental resistance. Lower durometer silicone materials like 50A are commonly selected for applications requiring flexibility, vibration absorption, and improved surface contact. These materials are widely used in food processing, medical, and industrial systems where FDA compliance and long-term stability are required. While highly versatile, silicone compounds are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection important.
