SI50TR35 Datasheet

SI50TR35 is a 50 shore A translucent silicone (VMQ) compound that is platinum cured and clean room manufactured for high purity sealing applications. This material meets FDA CFR 21 177.2600, USP Class VI <87> and <88>, and ISO 10993-1 requirements, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in medical devices, pharmaceutical equipment, and sensitive industrial systems. Its lower durometer provides excellent flexibility and conformability for low pressure sealing, while maintaining reliable performance across a service temperature range of -55°C to 205°C. SI50TR35 meets ASTM D2000 M4GE506 requirements and is well suited for applications where cleanliness, biocompatibility, and consistent sealing performance are critical.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its broad temperature range and excellent biocompatibility in high purity formulations. Platinum cured silicone materials are specifically designed to minimize extractables and improve consistency, making them ideal for medical, pharmaceutical, and food grade applications. These materials maintain elasticity in both extreme cold and heat, while offering strong resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging. While highly versatile, silicone compounds are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection essential.
