SI60OR00 Datasheet

SI60OR00 is a 60 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound that is peroxide cured and FDA compliant to 21 CFR 177.2600, making it well suited for food, beverage, and sanitary sealing applications. This material offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, supporting reliable performance in O-rings and gaskets used in processing equipment and washdown environments. With a service temperature range of -60°C to 205°C, it provides excellent flexibility at low temperatures while maintaining stability at elevated temperatures. SI60OR00 meets ASTM D2000 M5GE606 requirements and can be compared to materials such as Parker S1138-70 for similar FDA compliant silicone sealing applications.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets where broad temperature range and environmental resistance are required. These materials maintain elasticity in both extreme cold and heat, making them ideal for applications involving thermal cycling, outdoor exposure, and sanitary environments. Silicone compounds are commonly used in food processing, medical devices, and general industrial applications due to their non-toxic formulations and resistance to aging and ozone. While highly versatile, they are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or highly aggressive solvents, so proper application matching is important.
